Adult Courses
The most popular course at am Language Studio, General English, is designed to give students a solid introduction to the English language and devotes special attention to grammar, vocabulary building, conversation and pronunciation.

General English: The most popular course at am Language Studio, General English, is designed to give students a solid introduction to the English language and devotes special attention to grammar, vocabulary building, conversation and pronunciation.
Intensive English: By devoting more hours to tuition, students can give their English a kick-start in a relatively short period of time.
English Mini Group: This course is designed to cover the same course content as outlined in our General English Course.
Individual Lessons: Individual lessons offer students the opportunity to make their learning more focused and pertinent to their needs.
Combination English: With this course, students benefit from group classes in the General English Course and individual lessons when the teacher’s undivided attention is focused on their specific needs.
English for Specific Purposes (ESP)
Our ESP (English for Specific Purposes) Courses consist of Medical English, Legal English and English for Tourism, or any other particular subject a group may wish to study. The courses are designed according to participants’ specific needs and their future objectives. Students are given the opportunity to improve their ability to communicate in English, using generic jargon whether medical, legal, that used in the tourism sector, or any other specialist field.
Please note that these are specialist courses and therefore require a minimum of 4 students per class. For individual bookings please refer to our English Combination Course (am200105a OR am200105b) which will allow you to participate in General English group classes and specialise in your chosen subject with Individual Tuition.

Cambridge Exam Preparation
BEC is offered at two levels, Vantage and Higher. BEC examinations are ideal for students who are preparing for a career in business.
With the world fast becoming a smaller place, it is now more common for non-native English speakers to attend an English-speaking university, or to migrate to an English-speaking country. Students interested in sitting for an internationally recognised examination can take an Examination Preparation Course with am Language Studio covering the major examinations; the Cambridge Examination Courses plus IELTS, TOEFL, TOLES and WEFT. These courses are available all year round.
Courses vary from 4 to 12 weeks depending on the examination and the needs and level of the applicant. Spread over 30 sessions a week, each session being 45 minutes long, participants focus on grammar awareness and use of language. They develop their four skills of reading, listening, writing and speaking, and also concentrate on more specific examination subject requirements.

FCE (First Certificate in English):FCE is at Level 3 in the Cambridge five level system. This course has widespread recognition in commerce and industry such as public or secretarial work in banking, airlines, catering and hospitality.

Teenage Easter Packages in Host Family: Our Teenage English Courses are designed to stimulate students to work on their English language skills over the Easter period and during the summer months (June, July, and August).
Teenage Summer Packages in Host Family: Our Teenage English courses are designed to stimulate students to work on their English language skills over the Easter period and during the summer months (June, July, and August).
Teenage Summer Camp in Residence: Our Teenage Camp (14 to 18 years old) is designed to introduce the English language to the students in a fun and dynamic manner.

Individual Business English: Individual lessons with the full and continuous attention of the teacher offer students the opportunity to practise and go over areas of their choice.
Combination Business English: This course is an ideal way for students to combine a Business English course with individual attention.
Intensive Business English Mini Group + Individual Tuition: With this course students follow the Intensive Business English Course but with fewer students in the classroom allowing them to benefit from more teacher attention followed up with individual tuition.
Long Stay/Academic Year
Our Long Stay Courses offer students the opportunity to practise and develop their English language skills more thoroughly over an extensive period of time, focusing on fluency, grammar, vocabulary, conversation and pronunciation. Using modern course books and a wide range of our resource materials, they can expect to participate in pair and group work and take on an active role in the classroom. While conventional texts and audio equipment form the basis of the lesson structure, teachers encourage language use through role-play, problem solving, discussions and story telling.
The courses are designed to help students improve their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, increase their English vocabulary and give them more confidence with English. They put the knowledge they gain in class to everyday use and make steady progress through each level.
Students can follow either the General English Course or the Intensive English Course. These are offered at all levels and in periods of 8, 12, 24 and 36 weeks. The longer the course, the better the prospects of becoming fluent in the English language.
General English: Our Long Stay Courses offer students the opportunity to practise and develop their English language more thoroughly over an extensive period of time, focusing on fluency, grammar, vocabulary, conversation and pronunciation.

Exam Preparation
IELTS is administered jointly by The British Council, IDP Education Australia and the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate.

TOLES (Test of Legal English Skills): The TOLES examinations were developed to meet the demand from law firms, companies, legal institutions, lawyers and law students for an accurate method of assessing an individual's proficiency of legal English.
WEFT (Written English for Tourism): Set by LCCI (London Chamber of Commerce Institute), WEFT tests a candidate’s skills to communicate effectively in English at customer liaison level for the hospitality, travel and tourism industries.

e-Learning Courses
The e-learning course has been developed as a follow-up course for students who have already attended an EFL course with am Language Studio at the levels indicated below. The course includes interactive learning activities for students to work through independently, offering them further opportunity for practice in areas of grammar that they may have already studied during their language course at am Language Studio.
At each level, the course is designed to give students more of a challenge, extending their learning potential. The tasks predominantly involve listening and reading skills, varying in intensity from general to more specific, giving students further possibility to develop their reading and, more importantly, their listening skills. The interactive tasks incorporate multiple choice and gap-fill exercises, and are designed to broaden students’ range of vocabulary and further their language awareness. The flexibility of the course allows students to work at their own pace.

Executive Host Families
Staying with an English-speaking Maltese family is an excellent way of maximising your educational experience with am Language Studio. We Maltese have our own way of life so staying in a family environment can be fun. It gives you the opportunity to practise your English and it will provide you with an enriched cultural experience that you will remember for the rest of your life!
Having said this, family homes are not hotels and living with a family is, at times, a delicate thing. Bear in mind that you will be entering a family’s home and that you will have to integrate into their way of life. Choose this option if you are open-minded, fun-loving and ready to learn about Maltese customs and traditions. It is an ideal choice for students wanting to practise their English and experience living in Malta at an affordable price.

am Language Studio is committed to offering quality home-stay programmes. Students will receive a Host Family Profile of their host family when their application is confirmed by our letter of acceptance. Students choosing Executive Host Family will be placed in a single room, with their own bathroom. The student will be the only student in the family, unless specifically requested otherwise, and the student will be provided with Internet Access.

Should any student have any problem with their host family accommodation they are to inform us immediately in writing and we will do all we can to solve the problem within 48 hours of receipt of the written complaint. Should we be unable to resolve any valid complaint within 48 hours am Language Studio will do everything possible to change the student’s accommodation immediately.
Self-Catering Shared Apartments
An am Language Studio apartment is your best option for cost-effective, independent accommodation while learning English in Malta. You have more independence and the opportunity to cook your own meals while enjoying the company of other students from different countries. Our apartments are centrally located and close to local amenities like cafés, bars, restaurants, shops and buses and all are within walking distance of am Language Studio (maximum distance 15 minutes on foot). While all apartments are approved by our organisation, each one may offer particular features and different facilities.
Executive Apartments
An am Language Studio apartment is your best option for cost-effective, independent accommodation while learning English in Malta. You have the privacy of your own space and the opportunity to cook your own meals while enjoying the company of other students from different countries. Our apartments are centrally located and close to local amenities like cafés, bars, restaurants, shops and buses and are all within walking distance of am Language Studio (maximum distance 15 minutes on foot).
Welcome Hamper in the Apartment
am Language Studio kindly offers a token of convenient items to welcome you to Malta and make the start of your stay as comfortable as possible.
